Building on emergency/urgent care Triage
This interactive day will build on the basics of triage and use case scenrios to aid dicussion. The program was conducted in Feb 2016, further sessions will be provided in response to demand.
Twilight Emergency Care Program
This program is designed to address the most frequent clinical concerns for health professionals working in rural emergency areas. Each session addresses a separate area and combines lectures and interactive skill stations. The program is designed for general practitioners, registered nurses, ambulance paramedics and any other clinicians working with time critical patients.

RCH Paediatric Trauma Day
This seminar is aimed at exposing nursing, medical and paramedical practitioners to the skills required in the practical management of the Victorian paediatric trauma population.The goal is to improve the knowledge base and skill competency of trauma and emergency personnel responsible for the delivery of care to the paediatric trauma patient.
The day offers a hands-on experience through the use of lectures, skill stations and scenarios. Scenarios will operate in a team based approach. The primary focus will be on the initial assessment and management of the paediatric trauma patient and practical life sustaining procedures.
The registration flyer for 2016 shows the program. Another program will be conducted in 2017
Nurse Practitioner Forum
A Nurse practitioner forum was held in the region in Februrary 2015. The program covered a variety of topics including:
- Becoming a nurse practitioner - where do you start by Dan Schiftan
- The nurse practitioner endorsement process - Kerry Bradley. Kerry was unable to attend the forum in person but was linked via teleconference. Kerry is from APHRA
- Implementing the model into a health service - Julianne Clift
- Three presentations from a variety of nurse practitioners

The Coronial Process
Two education sessions were conducted in June 2012, one in Ballarat and one in Stawell, on the Coronial Process. The sessions covered topics such as the role of the coroner, the nature of the coroner's investigation, documentation and practical aspects of reporting deaths. These sessions may be repeated in the future.
The coroners court has an interactive 'virtual tour' which provides information on how the court operates and what is expected of a witness and other useful information.
